I think Pandora might have bitten the dust about 20 minutes ago (2pm west coast), at least the music died and I can't reconnect to their web site.

Man, this is a big time bummer! I absolutely love Pandora and I would even be willing to pay a modest subscription price to listen if it could help keep Pandora around. I can't even begin to tell you how many new artist I've discovered on Pandora, most of which I later went to other websites to purchase their music. I hate this for all those artist that don't have some big record label promoting them to the main stream;( !!!

For those who want to check it out, Rick Springfield
does more than half decent music. CURRENT music.
The latest release on CD, "Venus In Overdrive"
actually charted. Offensive imagery, "propelled into a fit
of rage" taken out on a youth center? Indeed.
.com, .net or whatever cyberspace radio is bound to go the
way of old style radio. Televsion, etc. It's all about making
money for someone or some group. Look at what did
happen with TV. It used to be free. Just the cost of the
set and electricity. Three network channels and UHF.
FREE is not at least $35 just for BASIC CABLE. Cheer up,
if you can wean yourself from all those choices, you'll
be able to get free network HDTV per Switched.com newspiece. If you don't pay and play, they can't hold
sway. It is that simple.

This is such a bummer. It is totally true, Pandora has exposed me to new music that I would have never heard and thus never bought had I not used the service.

Why not find a better solution that allows everyone to win, especially the consumers: Ad revenues going to the music companies, or commercials, or something else.

Urgh!
