I stumbled across this entry via a lazy Sunday cruising the intraweb with nothing particular on my mind.

Before I launch into a tirade, let me state this: I am a comic book guy. I am happily married, own a house, and I'm a freelance writer as well. Do I fit the profile of the stereotypical comic book nerd? Probably not. But, I do find this entry insulting.

Comic book fans are an easy target. For the most part, they are men who enjoy reading books about men in tights upholding very simple minded morals and ideals. Not very highbrow, but then again what is?

I'm a stranger to your blog, and I don't know what type of entertainment you prefer, but I'm willing to bet that there is something out there that you are as emotionally involved in as some of us are with comics. When something happens to a band that you like, or a character on a television show, book, or film that you have invited into your life, then gage your reaction. I'm willing to bet it will be close to what some of these comic fans felt when Captain America's character was killed off.

I'm not sure if there was a point to me writing all of this, but I wanted to stop in and give a voice to the dorks who you might have offended with this piece.
